“With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings who are made in the likeness of God…this need not be so…” (James 3:9-10). A womans body can sell a car, smite a grown man speechless and hold a whole room captive. Our bodies can bring comfort and protection or speak volumes. It’s a powerful thing. But what is power? In the body there is what is referred to as the calorie or the kilojoule. Food gives us energy/power (or whatever you want to call it). It’s meant to be used. And if it isn’t used it’s stored. It sits and waits then eventually weighs us down as fat, the body’s highest concentration of stored energy. For a while whenever I ate I felt like a knife was going trough my insides. Shortly after eating I would loose my food from one end or the other. I was drained of energy and in consistent pain. I had some figuring out to do. Turns out I’m allergic to gluten (found in all barley wheat and rye). I not only had to cut it out of my diet but I had to replace it with something better for me. It wasn’t easy, I had to put my mind to it. I had to be more selective, creative and aware, but after day 3 I was fine! We are power-full because we are constantly being filled, but with what and from where? I don’t know a single person that ain’t allergic to impurity, lust, immorality, immodesty or pornography. It may look appealing but ends up like a knife cutting trough our INNER PEACE, it leaves us feeling drained and can leave us and our loved ones in constant pain. We are our brothers keepers. “Which one of you would hand [your brother] a stone when he asks for a loaf if bread, or a snake when he asks for a fish.” (Matt 7: 9-10). Which one of us, in a world starving for love and purity would feed her brother lust and immodesty. “…you shall love your neighbour as yourself.” Matt 22:39 Lets give them what they really need. So regardless of how empty we may feel when we see ourselves in the mirror, our bodies are full of power, your power-full! If we only knew the power that’s been entrusted to us! How are you going to use it? “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required” Lk 12:48
